Naughty

Here's my take on the Make It Crafty challenge for this week - Use Black and a Splash of Red.  The image is entitled "Flapper" from Rick St Dennis, a unique etsy digital stamp artist, colored with Copics and highlighted with Smooch and diamond glaze.  The frame around the image and sentiment are from Spellbinders Label 14, the sentiment itself is from a Krafty Kimmie set, and the black stamped image around the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps.  I embossed the white cardstock frame and then inked the resulting pattern with black ink.  The ribbon, pearls and feather are all from my stash.  This card will make an excellent birthday card for a special lady.
I am entering this card into the following challenge:

Whimsy and Stars

I have found another wonderful place to buy digital stamps from, called Whimsy and Stars.  The images are soooo adorable, and today the artist released new images.  This is one of the older images entitled Flower Girl that I have colored with Copics.  The embellishments are all from Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs and Floral Accents.  The dp is "Adore" from Prima's Botanical Collection.  As pictured below I used Ranger Fruit Punch Stickles to highlight the centers of the flowers and the dies.  I think this card would make a great Mother's Day card.

Easter is coming!

Well we survived another major dump of snow, and already about half of it is melted!! I think we would all prefer to see rain but the weather man is calling for more white stuff on the weekend.  Just keep trying to tell myself it's just moisture, but it was sure white, heavy moisture today.
Anyhow, Easter is only a week away, so in last night's class we colored up this cute image from Penny Black.  It was colored with distress inks and the dp is an oldie from my stash again.  The center of the flower is a pop up glue dot covered with microbeads.

Again!!!

Okay, who forgot to turn off the snow making machine?!!!  We are once again in the middle of another snowfall warning - it is a blizzard out there - will spring ever arrive I wonder?  The wonderful thing is that I have a great group of ladies who love to paint with distress inks, and they all had a great time at tonight's class.  I surprised them with a fourth card for the class, and they all took it in stride - thank you all for your continuing support!  Here's the card that I finished just an hour before the class started:

Dude!

We are finally enjoying spring here in Calgary.  I spent yesterday at the Calgary garden show with my daughter at the Green Calgary booth promoting water barrels and composters, and was amazed with the number of people who attended the event.  It was a great experience, and I like helping people get excited about doing their part for the environment.  When I finally got home, I completed the card below for an upcoming class.  The image is from Kraftin Kimmie and I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versamark ink, and then colored him with distress inks.  His leather jacket has been distressed using Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint, and the gears were cut using Tim Holtz's Gadget Gears die.  The dp is from my stash of  7 Gypsies, and the sentiment is an from an old Autumn Leaves set called "talking in circles (boy)".

I'll Say it Again, and Again!!

I LOVE. LOVE, LOVE the Flower Fairy stamps and thanks to a wonderful friend, I am now the proud owner of "Willow", and could not wait to put ink to this exquisite image.  She is painted with distress inks on watercolor paper, and I adore the finished card.  Have a look and let me know what you think!!!

Busy Week?!!

Okay, the week has flown by, and I have finished a few cards throughout the week but for some reason, getting the camera out to take photos seemed to be a big chore!  So now it's catch up time, so here we go - the first two cards feature images from Teddy Bo digital images, two little bears all dressed up and ready for Easter!

This next card has the cutest dragon and I can't remember the name of the company that this stamp comes from, but thanks go out to Crystal for letting me stamp this character.  I gave him a little extra texture by adding spots to his body!

I am trying to ink up some images that I have had for awhile, and the results are the card below featuring this flower child from the Greeting Farm:
And last but not least, is this Little Ballerina from Stampavie's newest release - love the seashells on her waist, and the beautiful starfish she is holding.

Hopefully everyone else had a very creative week and here's hoping that your weekend is just as creative.  I know that I'll be hibernating and coloring due to the fact that Calgary is in another weather warning - 15 to 25 cm of snow by Sunday - just when we start to think that Spring is here, we get another round of the white stuff.  Oh well, at least it's not -30. lol :)
